Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September. 21 1982) is a well-known American actor. Most notably, she played Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV show as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. She was born in Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of high school after her parents split up to move to Los Angeles to live with her mother. Though she struggled financially in 2001, her debut came in the role of Rachel's Room's primary character. Her portrayal of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the T.V. film Murder In Greenwich in 2002 earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played the lead actress in Lost in its two initial seasons. In 2004, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace was keen to pursue film following her role as Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. She also was as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and, opposite Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills in Taken. In 2008, she played the same role as Kim Mills in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both 2012). Grace reprised Shannon's role as Shannon in Lost for two additional episodes. This included the final episode of the series. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth season of Californication. The character she plays is Faith as the muse and fan of the stars. Gyllenhaal is a member of her family, and is the older cousin of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first roles were in the films of her father in his adolescent years. Together with her brother she also appeared in Donnie Darko (2000). Later, she was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal was nominated for an Golden Globe Award in both the action drama Sherrybaby (2005) as well as the romance comedy Secretary (2002). The two films received acclaim from critics. In the wake of several successful commercial films such as World Trade Center in 2006 she gained greater recognition for her role as Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). Gyllenhaal composed and directed her first feature film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The psychological drama won Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. It was also nominated to The Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
