Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both of whom were lawyers. After moving to Oxfordshire around the age of five, Emma enrolled at The Dragon School. Emma's goal was to be an actor. When she was 6she was enrolled into the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch, where she took classes for acting, singing and dance. At the age of ten, she took part as the lead in a number of Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. The casting process began in 1999 in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered through Emma's Oxford Theater instructor. After eight consecutive auditions, the producer David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected as the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first screen appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's release in the year 2001. The movie beat all previous records on opening day and weekend sales, and it was the most-recorded 2001 movie. It was highly acclaimed by reviewers, and so were the performance of three new starlets. The widely distributed British publication The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Later Emma was nominated for five prizes for her work in the film winning the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in a Feature Film.
