Aisling Bea

Aisling was born on 16 March 1984, at Kildare Ireland. She is one of Ireland's best-known and popular comedians. The comedian appeared alongside Stephen Fry on QI. Aisling O'Sullivan, more popularly known by the stage name Aisling Bea (born on 16 March 1984), is an Irish actress, writer and stand-up comic. Bea was first able to make a name for herself in stand-up comedy in 2011, after playing a few small roles she appeared for Irish and British TV dramas beginning in 2009. As early as 2012 Bea began appearing on sketch comedy shows or sitcoms. Following her win during the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, she was scheduled for a range of panel programs. In 2016 and 2017, she was part of the 8 Out of 10 Cats' team, as well as a participant in the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. She was born to Brian O'Sullivan, the actress was blessed with one sister called Sinead. She was in 2012 the second female to win the So You Think That You're Funny award. Bea is her maiden name in honour of her deceased father. Aisling Claiodhnadhs Sullivan was born 16 March 1984 in Kildare, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian, an equine vet, who committed suicide when Bea turned three, was an sufferer of self-harm. Bea was informed of his death only at thirteen years of age. The stage name Bea is a tribute to her father. Bea published an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017 on her journey of suicide. Bea's mother Helen, who is also a trainer for jockeys as well as a former professional jockey was in charge of taking care of her and Sinead. Her family were racing and horse-related. As a young girl, Bea employed as an instructor at the Irish National Stud however she was aware from an early stage that she was not interested in the racing industry as a job, and loved performing.
